Sunday 6th October* 12-4pm

*Please check website and social media for updates by 10am on the day. We usually go ahead anyway if its wet but there is a reserve date of 13th October, in the event that the weather is stormy on the 6th.

Everybody Welcome!

This is our biggest annual community open day. It is suitable for all ages with plenty of seating and family-friendly activities. There will be plenty of field parking as well as spaces for the disabled and a drop off / collection point. Nonetheless, for sustainability reasons we do encourage everyone to come by boot, bus, bike or to car-share wherever possible. There is a large free car park adjacent to the bus station in St. Just. There will be signs and a rag trail to follow starting from the Square in St Just, to guide you along the 12-15 minute, field footpath (very beautiful, flat path with one stile) towards the farm. Please keep dogs on a lead. New and familiar faces are all very welcome.

Where?

Bosavern Community farm, St Just, TR19 7RD

What to bring, wear and what to expect

Stalls, farm tours, crafts, music, dancing, games, great food, good company and even free health checks! Held in the farmyard, there will be marquees and indoor areas but some of the fun activities are outdoors so if the weather is wild, you’ll want your big coat, if its sunny, you’ll want a hat and sunblock. Trainers or light boots are recommended footwear to get the most out of the farm tours, dancing and field games!

If you have hand tools which need sharpening, or small electrical items which need fixing, and you’d like some help or advice, you might want to bring them along as we are hosting the St Just Care & Repair Cafe this month.

Bagas Fellyon are providing some top tunes. They’re a lively, inclusive Cornish Nos Lowen band, no previous dance experience is needed and again, its suitable for all ages. Just hold hands and join in with the simple steps.  Check them out here:

As well as laying on a fabulous farm feast, farm tours and entertainment, we also have a wide range of demos and stall holders booked, including:

Bosavern Community Farm is a charitable organisation, wholly owned and managed by Bosavern Community Enterprises Ltd, a Community Benefit Society. Last year’s event helped us to create new outdoor salad beds to better bridge the Hungry Gap period between Spring and Summer crops. Your support at this event will help us to continue and expand our charitable activities by investing in improved energy efficiency, repairs and maintenance.
