poetry workshop 28 march 2017 at Bosavern Community Farm

Please contact Sonja (01736 785 773) for more info or to book.

This newly forming group will meet once a month at the farm on the last Tuesday of each month. The theme for our first session is just a suggestion, and it is hoped that members of the group will develop and contribute ideas for future meetings.

Diana Dixon, who is part of Stanza in Newlyn and involved in Penzance Literary Festival, will take the lead for this first session.
Please bring your poems to be read and share with others, as well as paper & pen/pencil to try out some exercises to stimulate your creativity.

Experienced writers as well as novices are welcome, it is your group and will reflect the needs and desires of all who attend.
Bosavern Community Farm, near St Just, is on the road towards Kelynack & Lands End and can be reached by walking over fields from St Just or catching the Community Bus, leaving St Just bus stop, just after 11am, which will drop you outside Bosavern Community Farm entrance. The timing of the workshop will enable you to catch a return bus to St Just, leaving the Farm around 1.50pm, if needed.

The Cobhouse is situated in the Home Field, a beautiful space, full of character and will inspire us to explore our interest and joy of words. There is a woodburner, which could be lit, however we would need to supply our own fuel. While there will be an electric heater, it is advisable to wear layers of clothing, as well as suitable footwear for the particularly wet month of March.

The suggested contribution is to pay for the space and refreshments.

Please call Sonja Fairfield on 01736 785 773 or text on 07886 272 652 to let her know if you are planning to attend.

  • Rain!
After two months of drought the rain finally came on Friday evening, to our great relief. We'd sown beetroot, chard, carrots, salads and turnips, as well as planting out pumpkins, courgettes, leeks, and dwarf French beans in the hope that it would, having already delayed for longer than we'd like.... We've never known a dry […]
  • Golden-ringed dragonfly
At the end of June we spotted a golden-ringed dragonfly in one of the herb gardens planted by school groups last year. The female golden-ringed dragonfly is the UK's longest dragonfly.https://www.british-dragonflies.org.uk/species/golden-ringed-dragonfly
