During the hungry gap (May/June) we need to buy in some local produce to fill our boxes, but we will always tell you where it is from and will only work with other producers who grow to the same standards as we do. Meanwhile our summer crops are going into the ground and getting going and our new potatoes and broad beans will be coming soon.
This week’s small veg boxes contained potatoes, chard, lettuce, radishes, peas (Heather Lane Nurseries), courgettes (grown organically in Crowlas).
Standard boxes also contained herb fennel, strawberries, and spring greens (Heather Lane Nurseries, Canonstown).
This week’s small veg boxes contained kohlrabi, radishes, potatoes, chard, rhubarb and beetroot. All grown at Bosavern Community Farm.
You may already have tried our first strawberries of the season and our rhubarb has been gracing the shelves of our farm shop since the middle of May. At Bosavern we are looking forward to 2015 being our first year of fruit production. Continue reading
